SortVivo ("this site") is a sorting algorithm visualization site published by Kinoco LLC.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read.

What we collect

  • The URL and title of the page you view, and the referring page
  • Device information such as browser, OS, and screen size
  • An approximate location (country or region level) inferred from your IP address
  • A random identifier stored in a cookie
  • Actions within the site: which algorithm was shown, how far you got in a quiz and how it ended, and how far you read an explanation

What we do not collect

  • Information that identifies you, such as your name, email address, postal address, or phone number
  • The content you enter

This site has no sign-in, and none of the information above is linked to a name or any other identity.

Recipient and purpose

The information collected is sent to Google LLC (United States) and processed in Google Analytics. It is used only to see which pages are read and to improve this site's content and usability. It is not used for advertising, and Google Signals, which infers age, gender, and interests, is not enabled.

How Google handles this data (Google Privacy Policy)

Retention

User-level and event-level data is deleted after 14 months. Aggregated reports remain beyond that period.

Visitors from the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland

We do not run analytics for visits from these regions. Google Analytics is not loaded at all, so no cookie is stored.

How to stop analytics

The easiest way is to switch Analytics to "Stop" in this site's settings menu (•••). None of these will limit what you can do on this site.

The stop setting is stored in your browser, so clearing this site's data also clears it. It stops future collection only; it does not delete data already sent.

Deleting your own data

We have no way to connect the information collected to a specific person. If you ask us to delete your data, we cannot tell which data is yours, so we cannot act on the request. Deleting the cookie in your browser starts a new identifier and breaks the link to earlier data. Data past the retention period is deleted automatically.

Likes on Sortube

When you like a video on Sortube, the following is sent to and stored on our server so that like counts can be shared between visitors. Nothing is sent when you only watch.

  • A random anonymous identifier generated by your browser and stored in your browser (localStorage)
  • The ID of the liked video (the combination of algorithm, input pattern, element count, and display mode)

This includes nothing that identifies you, such as a name, and it is not linked to the analytics identifier. It is used only to count one like per browser and to display like counts. It is stored in a database we run on services of Cloudflare, Inc. (United States).

Bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To prevent inflated like counts, a bot check by Cloudflare Turnstile runs the first time you send a like (and again every 24 hours). During the check, information needed to tell humans from bots — browser characteristics, interaction signals, and your IP address — is sent to Cloudflare, Inc. (United States). Turnstile is loaded only when you send a like; it does not run while you merely watch.

How Cloudflare handles this data (Cloudflare Privacy Policy)

Removing likes

Removing a like deletes the corresponding record on the server. Clearing this site's data in your browser discards the anonymous identifier, after which any remaining records can no longer be attributed to anyone (they remain only as like-count statistics).
